When Time Forgot To End
A downloadable game
About
"When Time Forgot to End" is a chaotic, physics-driven survival experience set in a world where time has stopped but motion hasn’t.
You drive through a collapsing lab where every collision, every bounce, and every second adds to your eternity. The laws of physics are broken, and you’re caught inside the moment that refuses to finish.
Your only goal? Break the cycle before you become part of it.
Game Lore
The experiment was meant to end time itself.
But the lab’s Flux Capacitor malfunctioned, and the clock never stopped.
Time fractured. Physics lost control.
The machines kept running.Energy kept moving.
Collisions never settled.
You’re trapped inside the failure where motion loops forever and never finds its effect.
Break the cycle. Escape the lab.
Or become another machine caught in motion...
In a world where "Time Forgot To End".
Dev Summary & Theme Fit
"When Time Forgot to End" was my second idea for the jam. The first prototype didn’t feel as fun or close to what I had imagined, so I pivoted quickly to a simpler and more expressive concept:
What if time stopped, but physics didn’t?
The theme “Timeless” inspired me to build a world stuck in one infinite moment, a chaotic lab where motion never ends. I used the Robot Lab (Unity 20th Anniversary Pack) as the foundation, but completely retextured and rematerialized it to match my poppy, arcade-style vision. I baked a basic lightmap to highlight the environment’s depth and energy.
From the U1.2 Starter Assets, I used the car and character meshes, and even turned a smooth cube into a power-up, repurposing assets creatively to fit the gameplay loop.
Due to time constraints, I went with a minimalist UI, focusing on clarity and efficiency. I also added a short tutorial/FTUE to help players quickly understand the mechanics, something I’ve learned is crucial for consistent feedback and player enjoyment.
Late in development, I recognized that replayability was lacking, so I implemented basic difficulty settings to allow players to increase the challenge and enjoy the game more consistently.
The game still has a few rough edges, no player boundaries, and a few physics quirks I wish I could’ve polished more. If time had allowed, I’d have loved to add more visual depth and effects to bring the chaos of the world to life.
Even so, I’m proud of how this project captures the essence of Timeless, a world where motion, energy, and chaos outlive time itself
